Why does TikTok ban your account?
It's important to understand why TikTok banned your account. Depending on why your
account was banned, TikTok may have temporarily put your account on hold, which
means it will come back and you won't need to do anything.
If the violation
is serious enough, or if you receive multiple warnings, TikTok may ban your account
permanently. The most notable permanent bans are due to age restrictions. Users who
create accounts younger than 13 years old will be permanently banned from the
platform. If your account is permanently banned, you can use the appeals process to
get your account back.
Finally, TikTok can ban the IP address of your
device. If this happens, you will not be able to log in to your old account or
create a new one. Of course, you should follow the appeals process to see if TikTok
will reverse its decision, but if that doesn't work, you can use a VPN to bypass the
ban. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get your old account back, but at least
you will be able to create a new one.
How to file an appeal using
TikTok?
Whether you don't want to wait for the temporary ban to
be lifted, or your account is permanently banned, you can file an appeal with
TikTok.
1. Open the TikTok app and click on Appeal in the pop-up window that
appears.
2. Fill out the form. Be sure to include your username, details of
the unban, and a screenshot (if available).
3. When you are ready to send
your appeal to TikTok, click Submit.
If you don't see the appeal option, or
the pop-up notification only gives you the OK button, you can email TikTok customer
service directly. Send an email to legal@tiktok.com.
It's important to note that how you file your appeal can have a big impact
on whether or not TikTok will unblock you. Here are some things to keep in mind
before you submit:
Be gracious - You are trying to prove that you are a good
person who will not hurt or harass others. You also don't want the person handling
your complaint to be angry with you.
Review the community guidelines - Use
your browser to delve into the community guidelines and TikTok's terms of use. When
you file a complaint, include the section that relates to your ban and a polite
explanation of why it was not upheld.
Include screenshots - provide as much
evidence as possible. TikTok may have triggered you to sit in the car as a risky
behavior, or something in the background of the video may have triggered the account
ban.
How to get around a TikTok ban?
If TikTok
denies your appeal, the only solution is to use a trusted virtual private network
(VPN) service. But how exactly does this work? First, you should know that a VPN
connects your device to a server in that country/region or elsewhere in the world.
This network will pass a new VPN to TikTok, effectively masking your real identity.
To bypass the TikTok ban, you need to choose a VPN that can successfully
hide TikTok's actual IP location.
How long does the TikTok ban
last?
Temporary bans due to violations of community guidelines
may last anywhere from one day to two weeks. After the suspension expires, you can
continue business as usual, but you should be aware of TikTok policies.
However,
there is also a permanent TikTok ban. It usually occurs when a user violates
multiple policies in a short period of time.
If this happens, you will see a
message stating that your account has been permanently banned. The only way out is
to open a new TikTok account (using a different name) and follow all the rules.
